ABOUT US

Welcome to Hand of Ifa, a Spiritual Journey that offers a blend of services related to Ifa, a traditional religion, and system of divination in West Africa, as well as divination reading services. Our business provides spiritual consultations, ritual items, educational resources, cultural events, courses, meditation, guidance, and merchandise to promote wellness and mindfulness. We aim to create a peaceful and rejuvenating environment for individuals to improve their overall well-being and gain spiritual clarity in a serene setting while focusing on spiritual enlightenment, self-awareness, and indigenous beliefs.

Our Practitioners are from the Ogunda Meji Temple in Ibadan, Nigeria, which stands as a beacon of modernity within the traditional practice of the Ifá religion. Founded by the late Chief Ifayemi Awopeju Bogunmbe, a distinguished Babaláwo, the temple is a testament to the harmonious blend of contemporary approaches with the rich heritage of Yoruba spirituality.

At the heart of the temple's philosophy is the integration of modern practices into the worship of Ifá, transforming what was once considered 'crude' traditional spiritual practice into an organized, international religious institution. This evolution is guided by the Cultural Evolution Theory, which posits that cultures develop from simpler to more complex states, mirroring the temple's journey from local tradition to global recognition.

The practitioners at Ogunda Meji Temple are custodians of this cultural synthesis, embodying the sophistication and civilization that the temple promotes. Their work extends beyond the confines of religious rites; they engage in missionary activities, maintain a serene worship environment, and facilitate a dynamic worship experience that resonates with both local adherents and international followers.

The temple's approach is characterized by detailed documentation, structured worship, and openness, which has earned it commendable prominence as an indigenous religious center. It is a place where tradition meets modernity, where the ancient wisdom of the Odù Ifá is conveyed through a lens of contemporary relevance.

In essence, the Ogunda Meji Temple and its long line of Ifá practitioners represent the successful adaptation of Yoruba religious practices to the demands of the modern world, ensuring that the Ifá religion continues to thrive and expand its reach across the globe.
